The Grand Lagoon National and the events that accompany it will provide a unique opportunity to national, regional and local sponsors to introduce their product or service to a broad audience of affluent consumers. Upwards of four hundred boat owners are anticipated to participate, including the owners of luxury sport fishing yachts, midsize fishing yachts, family and inshore fishing boats as well as charter, party and dive boats. Together the anglers and crews who fish during the tournament will form a group of approximately 2,000 fishing enthusiasts, representing a wide ranging and upscale demographic audience.

The eight competitive divisions of the Grand Lagoon National (Big Game, Charter, Offshore, Inshore, Flats, Kayak, Party Boat and Dive) represent a pioneering commitment to create a national tournament based on an open-door tournament that will permit both seasoned professional and family enthusiasts to compete in pursuit of over $1 million in cash prizes. Few other venues have resources to accommodate such a diverse field.

Located at the St. Andrews Bay entrance to the Gulf of Mexico, the Grand Lagoon has established a regional reputation as a recreational fishing center. Marinas on the Grand Lagoon hold many fishing records including the State of Florida record for the largest Blue Marlin (1,046 pounds caught in 2001). The Grand Lagoon National is hosted by marinas representing over 1,300 wet slips and dry storage racks and by restaurants that have a combined capacity in excess of 2,500 dining seats. Together these facilities make it possible to accommodate the anglers and spectators who will participate in the Grand Lagoon National.

The four day event, with accompanying onshore activities, is projected by organizers to attract approximately 40,000 spectators representing beach tourists and local residents. Activities to generate attendance are planned including weigh-in festivities at three venues, national and regional musical entertainment, family and "festival activities", food and beverage booths operated by local restaurants, fireworks displays, parades and other tournament-related entertainment activities such as VIP and Angler kickoff parties and award ceremonies.

Named and Platinum Sponsors will receive numerous promotional opportunities, depending on their level of support, including vendor tent and display opportunities in two sponsorship villages, participation in privately hosted tournament events, VIP entertainment packages and, for named sponsors, special affiliation with specific tournament activities or products. The Grand Lagoon National is owned and operated by Grand Lagoon National Foundation, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation. The Foundation was organized by the marinas and businesses which line the Grand Lagoon to promote it as a fishing, entertainment and family destination and to make contributions to local charities, specifically charities serving children and Gulf Coast fishing families. The organizers have a rich and successful history of hosting major fishing and festival events, including founding and, for twenty-three years, directing the nationally recognized Bay Point Invitational Billfish Tournament.
